====== Control Points (CPs) ======

**CPs** (control points) are the points where the [[en:mirally:index|MiRally]] timing system records the competitors' passing time. In the Roadbook Designer, a CP is a roadbook line with GPS coordinates but no tulip. CPs do not appear in the competitors' roadbook: the [[en:roadbook-designer-organizadores:convertir-roadbook-a-pdf-y-otros:conversion-de-archivos-rbd|conversion]] exports them in the CPs Excel file, which is loaded into MiRally.

==== CP types ====

  * **Regularity CP**: normal regularity control.
  * **Pass CP**: passage control. It is used, for example, to record the start time at Monte-Carlo starts.
  * **CH**: time control.
  * **Radar Point**: speed control zone.

==== Adding CPs ====

  * **Normal tap** on the add CP button (or the Rabbit Box remote's -10 button): adds a Regularity CP at the current position. While the Designer waits for the GPS position a yellow message appears; when the CP has been recorded a green message appears.
  * **Holding the button for 1 second** opens the CPs menu:

  - **Add CPs Automatically**: turns the automatic CPs on or off. When they are on, the button turns red.
  - **Add Pass CP**, **Add CH** or **Add Radar Point**: adds a CP of that type at the current position.
  - **Show/Hide CPs**: hides the CP lines on the screen so you can see the references better.
  - **Delete All CPs**: deletes all the CPs of the roadbook.

==== Automatic CPs ====

With automatic CPs turned on, the Designer only adds CPs while you are in a speed (S) stage:

  * A **Pass CP** 100 metres from the start of the stage, to record the competitor's start time.
  * Then a **Regularity CP** roughly every 350 metres, from kilometre 0.500 onwards. The distance varies a little at random (up to 15 %) so that the competitors cannot guess where the CPs are.

==== Converting references and CPs ====

Holding the arrow (**⬅**) of a line for 1 second opens its menu. In **Convert to Reference or CP** you can:

  * **Convert to Reference**: turns a CP into a normal reference.
  * **Convert to Regularity CP**, **Convert to Pass CP**, **Convert to CH** or **Convert to Radar Point**: turns a reference into a CP. Its tulip and its information are deleted.

==== Changing the distance of a CP ====

Hold the distance of the CP for 1 second to type a new distance. The Designer recalculates the references and the stages.
