====== Drawing tulips ======

Every time you add a reference, the Roadbook Designer opens the drawing screen so you can create the **tulip** (the drawing of the junction). The same screen is used for the **information** column of the reference and for the **cover** of the stages.

To open it again on a reference that already exists, tap the tulip (middle column) or the information (right column) of that reference.

==== Parts of the screen ====

  * **Canvas** (the white area at the top): where the tulip is composed.
  * **Side buttons**, to the right of the canvas.
  * **Mode buttons**, below the canvas.
  * **Tool area**, which changes depending on the mode chosen.
  * **Cancel** and **OK**, at the bottom.

==== Mode buttons ====

  - **References** (tulip icon): gallery of complete tulips. When you tap one, it fills the whole canvas. It is the quickest way to start.
  - **Objects** (tree icon): gallery of symbols (trees, houses, signs...) that are placed on top of the tulip and can be moved.
  - **FIA**: symbols from the FIA standard.
  - **USA**: symbols from the American standard.
  - **Draw** (pencil icon): freehand drawing or shapes.
  - **Text** (T icon): write text and place it on the tulip.
  - **Recent** (clock icon): your saved symbols and the last tulips and information drawn, so you can reuse them.

The Designer remembers the last mode you used, separately for tulips and for information.

==== Moving, rotating and resizing ====

  * **Drag with one finger** to move a symbol.
  * **Pinch with two fingers** on a symbol to resize and rotate it at the same time.
  * **Double-tap** a symbol to change its size: 1 → 1.5 → 2 → 2.5 → 0.5 → 0.75 → 1.

==== Drawing tools ====

In **Draw** mode:

  * **Pen**: normal or marker (semi-transparent).
  * **Colour**: erase, black, red, yellow, green, blue or sand.
  * **Undo**: removes the last stroke.
  * **Thickness**: four sizes.
  * **Shape**: freehand, line, zigzag, double line, rectangle, filled rectangle, oval and filled oval.
  * **Style**: solid, dashed or dotted.
  * **Arrows**: eight arrows that are placed in the chosen colour.

==== Text ====

In **Text** mode, type the text, choose the size with **-** and **+**, the colour (black, white, red or green) and the font, and tap **add**. The text is placed on the tulip like any other symbol: you can move it and resize it.

==== Side buttons ====

  * **Camera**: the first tap opens the camera inside the canvas; the second takes the photo and places it on the tulip. Very useful for the stage covers.
  * **Image**: places an image from the phone's gallery. If you hold the button for 1 second, the image is rotated 90° before being placed.
  * **Save**: saves the current tulip as a new symbol in **Recent**, so you can reuse it on other references.
  * **Erase all**: clears the canvas.

To delete a symbol from a gallery or from your saved symbols, hold it for 1 second and confirm. It is deleted from the phone.

==== Saving the tulip ====

  * **OK**: saves the tulip and returns to the roadbook.
  * **Cancel**: returns to the roadbook **without saving** the changes to the drawing.
