Troubleshooting

The Rabbit Box installation is very simple, but in some cars, generally classic ones, we encounter some problems that generate erroneous measurements or problems during an event.

Below we list the most common problems and their solutions:

Application Crash

It is recommended to use quality tablets and phones to avoid rare problems. Even so, it is advisable to restart the device before each rally day to free up memory that may be in use by other apps.

Bluetooth or WiFi Disconnection

If you lose the connection between the tablet and the Rabbit Box, it may have a poor contact on the Box's power supply. A brief power interruption can cause the disconnection. There are also some settings that can help on Android devices:

Measurements That Don't Match

If you have problems with sensor readings, the first thing to do is identify whether they are reading too high or too low and on which sensor.

To start, let's check if there are false pulses generated by the car's electrical system:

If there are no false pulses while stationary, to verify the pulses you can go to a stage and follow these steps:

  1. stop at the start
  2. turn off the box and close the app (to reset the pulses)
  3. turn on the box, reconnect the Wi-Fi and open the app (by doing this the app connects automatically when it opens)
  4. drive to the end without exceeding 30 km/h
  5. stop at the end and note the pulses (take a photo of the connections screen)
  6. repeat the process to compare the measurements
  7. if they don't match, send the two photos to our support group
  8. if they match, repeat again but faster, for example at 60 km/h
  9. if they don't match, send the three photos to our support group

False Pulses

We have seen many different cases that generate false pulses. The most common ways to avoid and discover where these pulses come from are:

  1. Power the sensor and box directly from the battery
  2. Use a shielded cable between the sensor and the box. The shield on both ends connected to ground.
  3. Move the box and wiring to a location further away from sources of electrical pulses such as the coil, distributor, spark plug wires, relay box, etc.
  4. Connect the box and sensors to an external battery to determine if it is an electrical problem or an electromagnetic pulse problem.
  5. If none of this works, contact our support group.

Lost Pulses

If pulses are missing, we can suggest some common solutions:
