GPS Health

The GPS Health page helps you spot the GPS devices that are having problems during the rally: devices that stop sending positions, have poor coverage or have stopped reporting.

To open it, on the Last Positions screen click the button with the rally control links and choose GPS Health. Like the Check GPSs link, it can be shared with the organisation team without logging in to MiRally.

For each car number and each GPS, the system checks the positions received while the car is moving and counts the gaps: the moments when the GPS went more than X seconds without sending positions (10 seconds by default).

The table shows:

• Number and GPS Name.
• Points: number of positions received.
• Gaps >10s: number of gaps.
• Longest Gap (s): the longest gap.
• Avg Sats: average number of satellites. Few satellites mean poor coverage or a badly placed GPS.
• Last Problem: time of the last gap.
• Status, with colours:
  • Green: no gaps.
  • Orange: 1 to 3 gaps.
  • Red: more than 3 gaps.
  • Grey: no data in the time window.

• Time Window: Last X min (the last 15 minutes by default), Whole day so far or Custom range (From / Until).
• Gaps >X s: after how many seconds without positions a gap is counted.
• Speed: only positions above this speed are taken into account (5 km/h by default), so that stopped cars are not counted as a problem.

Click Update to apply the filters.
