Probes

The Rabbit BOX and Rabbit PRO kits include magnetic probes. These probes detect the presence of an external magnetic field and must be installed together with a magnet, also included. Due to the polarity there is one position of the magnet that works and one that does not. The distance between the magnet and the probe must be 5mm (0.5cm).

On the other hand, there are also inductive probes, which detect metal objects without the object being a magnet. The distance between the probe and the metal must be 2mm (0.2cm).

Both are equally reliable, the difference lies in the installation. The advantage of the magnetic probe is the tolerance of the distance between the probe and the magnet during installation. The magnet must be about 5 mm away, but there is some margin; with inductive probes, the probe must be 2 mm away from the metal to work properly.
